Mary Ann Tells Legislators to Roll Back Property Taxes, Limit Data Centers

May 14th, the local State Senators & Representatives held their annual public meeting to hear citizens' concerns. Our current district State Rep did not show up. Mary Ann did, and scolded the legislators for shifting property taxes away from big corporations, onto homeowners and consumers. We used to pay only 38% of property taxes, but since our current "representative" has been in office, that's grown to 57%.

She also spoke out against big data centers, that will devastate our our district's farmlands, consume and pollute our water, drive up our energy costs, and generate noise - yet provide only a temporary small surge of employment, to be followed swiftly by their permanent destruction of many good jobs in our district, state and nation.

Dozens of Citizens from both parties applauded & joined her message, making a clear impression on the gathered lawmakers.
It's time to bring OUR priorities to the statehouse in Topeka, putting the focus back on OUR needs. Vote HARMON for State Rep.!
